Description
Ditch the grill and embrace the easiest way to make delicious smash burger sliders right in your kitchen! These sliders feature juicy beef patties with crispy edges, perfect for any casual gathering.
Ingredients
- Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
- Slider Buns
- American Cheese Slices
- Onion (Yellow or Red)
- Dill Pickle Slices
- Special Burger Sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, garlic powder)
- Neutral Oil (Canola, Vegetable, or Grapeseed)
- Salt
- Black Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a large, heavy-duty sheet pan inside for at least 20-30 minutes.
- While the oven and pan are heating, gently form your ground beef into loose, 2-ounce balls. Have your cheese slices ready, and prepare any toppings like thinly sliced onions, pickles, and your special sauce. Slice your slider buns in half.
- Carefully remove the super hot sheet pan from the oven and drizzle a tablespoon or two of your neutral oil onto the hot pan, spreading it quickly.
- Immediately place your beef balls onto the hot, oiled sheet pan, leaving some space between them. Use a sturdy, flat spatula to firmly press each beef ball down into a thin patty.
- Generously season the tops of your smashed patties with salt and black pepper. Place the sheet pan back into the hot oven for 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully remove the sheet pan from the oven. Flip each patty and add thin slices of onion on top if desired. Immediately top each patty with a slice of American cheese.
- While the cheese melts, add the open-faced slider buns to any empty spaces on the sheet pan or place them directly on the rack above the burgers.
- Return the sheet pan to the oven for another 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the buns are lightly toasted.
- Remove the sheet pan from the oven and transfer the cheesy patties to the bottom halves of your toasted buns. Add toppings like pickles, fresh onion, and a dollop of your special burger sauce. Cap them with the top buns and serve immediately!
