Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 cup of white wine (preferably a dry variety like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
- 1/2 cup of peach schnapps
- 1/4 cup of simple syrup (adjust based on your sweetness preference)
- 2 cups of ice
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Peach slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the peaches thoroughly under cool running water to remove any dirt or pesticides.
- Slice the peaches in half and remove the pits. Cut the halves into smaller wedges for easier blending.
- Prepare the simple syrup by combining equal parts of sugar and water (e.g., 1/4 cup of each) in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let cool. Store in the fridge if made ahead.
- In a blender, add the sliced peaches.
- Pour in the white wine.
- Add the peach schnapps.
- Pour in the simple syrup, adjusting the amount based on your sweetness preference.
- Add the ice, adjusting the quantity based on your desired slushy consistency.
- Blend on high until smooth and slushy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed (about 30 seconds to a minute).
- Taste the slushie. If it’s not sweet enough, add more simple syrup and blend again.
- If it’s too thick, add a splash of white wine or a little water to loosen it up, then blend again.
- Use tall, clear glasses to showcase the beautiful peach color of the slushies.
- Pour the slushie into each glass, filling them generously.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a slice of peach on the rim if desired.
- Serve immediately with a straw or spoon and enjoy!
- If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the freezer. Note that the texture may change once frozen and thawed. To enjoy later, let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the slushie by modifying the amount of simple syrup.
- For a thicker slushie, increase the amount of ice used.
