Description

Indulge in the delightful flavors of these Orange Creamsicle Truffles, featuring a luscious orange-flavored ganache coated in vibrant orange candy melts. Perfect for parties or a sweet treat at home!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest (freshly grated)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1 cup orange-flavored candy melts (or orange chocolate)
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional, for garnish)
  • Extra orange zest (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat. Stir occasionally until it just begins to simmer. Be careful not to let it boil.
  2. Once the cream is simmering, remove it from the heat and add the white chocolate chips. Let it sit for about 2 minutes to allow the chocolate to melt.
  3. After 2 minutes, stir the mixture until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  4. Add the orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and salt to the ganache. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
  5. Transfer the ganache to a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap, making sure the wrap touches the surface of the ganache. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 2 hours or until firm.
  6. Take the ganache out of the refrigerator. Using a small cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out a portion of the ganache, about 1 inch in diameter.
  7. Roll the scooped ganache between your palms to form a smooth ball. If the ganache is too soft, refrigerate for an additional 15-30 minutes.
  8. Place the rolled truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Return the truffles to the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up again.
  10. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the orange-flavored candy melts according to the package instructions.
  11. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle into the melted candy melts, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  12. Allow excess coating to drip off before placing the truffle back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  13. Sprinkle shredded coconut or extra orange zest on top while the coating is still wet, if desired.
  14. Repeat for all truffles until coated.
  15. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the coating to harden completely.
  16. Transfer the truffles to an airtight container. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
