Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon orange zest (freshly grated)
- 1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 1 cup orange-flavored candy melts (or orange chocolate)
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional, for garnish)
- Extra orange zest (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat. Stir occasionally until it just begins to simmer. Be careful not to let it boil.
- Once the cream is simmering, remove it from the heat and add the white chocolate chips. Let it sit for about 2 minutes to allow the chocolate to melt.
- After 2 minutes, stir the mixture until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Add the orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and salt to the ganache. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
- Transfer the ganache to a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap, making sure the wrap touches the surface of the ganache. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 2 hours or until firm.
- Take the ganache out of the refrigerator. Using a small cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out a portion of the ganache, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Roll the scooped ganache between your palms to form a smooth ball. If the ganache is too soft, refrigerate for an additional 15-30 minutes.
- Place the rolled truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Return the truffles to the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up again.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the orange-flavored candy melts according to the package instructions.
- Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle into the melted candy melts, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Allow excess coating to drip off before placing the truffle back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle shredded coconut or extra orange zest on top while the coating is still wet, if desired.
- Repeat for all truffles until coated.
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the coating to harden completely.
- Transfer the truffles to an airtight container. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Serve them on a decorative platter for a beautiful presentation.
- Pair them with a glass of chilled sparkling wine or a refreshing orange soda.
- For a fun twist, serve them alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Feel free to customize the truffles by adding different flavorings or toppings.
- These truffles make a great gift or a delightful treat for any occasion!
