Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound (about 450g) store-bought pizza dough or homemade pizza dough
- 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter (for greasing the pan)
- 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter (for seasoning)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (about 8 ounces or 225g) shredded low-moisture, part-skim mozzarella cheese
- Marinara sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter.
- If using cold dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Press the pizza dough into the prepared pan, working from the center outwards.
- In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter with 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon dried oregano, ½ teaspoon dried parsley, and ¼ teaspoon salt. Brush this mixture evenly over the surface of the pressed dough.
- Evenly sprinkle 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese over the buttered and seasoned dough.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the pan from the oven. Optionally, brush the edges and top with another tablespoon of melted unsalted butter.
- Let the cheese sticks cool in the pan for 2-3 minutes. Slice into individual sticks using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
- Serve immediately with warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Keywords: For a crispy crust, use a dark metal baking pan or cast iron skillet. Let the dough come to room temperature for easier handling. Grating your own mozzarella cheese can improve melt quality.
