Description

This Easy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is a delightful treat that combines the comforting flavors of ripe bananas and melty chocolate chips. Perfectly moist and tender, it’s an irresistible addition to any breakfast or snack time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon non-alcohol vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or a pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mash the ripe bananas until your desired consistency is reached.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the melted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and any optional nuts until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Optionally, sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake for 55-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Keep an eye on it as baking times can vary.
  9. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
