Ingredients
For the Chicken Marinade:
-
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
-
1 tsp sesame oil
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp smoked paprika
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
-
1 tbsp butter
-
5 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
-
1¼ cup chicken broth
-
½ cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Ramen Bowl:
-
2 packs of ramen noodles (discard seasoning)
-
1 tsp chili oil (optional, for topping)
-
1 green onion, sliced
-
1 soft-boiled egg (optional but recommended)
Instructions
-
Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, garlic powder, and paprika. Add chicken and coat well. Let sit for at least 15 minutes (or up to overnight).
-
Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium. Add a little oil and sear the chicken 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Set aside and slice.
-
Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 min). Stir in flour and whisk to create a roux. Slowly pour in chicken broth, whisking until smooth. Simmer 3–5 minutes. Add cream, season to taste, and cook until slightly thickened.
-
Cook the Ramen: Prepare noodles according to package directions (without seasoning). Drain and rinse under warm water.
-
Assemble: Toss cooked noodles in creamy garlic sauce. Top with sliced chicken, chili oil, green onions, and egg if using. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
-
You can substitute tofu for chicken to make this vegetarian.
-
Coconut cream works beautifully as a dairy-free alternative to heavy cream.
-
Spice level is customizable—adjust gochujang and chili oil to taste.
-
Leftovers keep well for 2–3 days in the fridge.
