Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Marinade:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1¼ cup chicken broth

  • ½ cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Ramen Bowl:

  • 2 packs of ramen noodles (discard seasoning)

  • 1 tsp chili oil (optional, for topping)

  • 1 green onion, sliced

  • 1 soft-boiled egg (optional but recommended)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, garlic powder, and paprika. Add chicken and coat well. Let sit for at least 15 minutes (or up to overnight).

  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium. Add a little oil and sear the chicken 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Set aside and slice.

  3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 min). Stir in flour and whisk to create a roux. Slowly pour in chicken broth, whisking until smooth. Simmer 3–5 minutes. Add cream, season to taste, and cook until slightly thickened.

  4. Cook the Ramen: Prepare noodles according to package directions (without seasoning). Drain and rinse under warm water.

  5. Assemble: Toss cooked noodles in creamy garlic sauce. Top with sliced chicken, chili oil, green onions, and egg if using. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute tofu for chicken to make this vegetarian.

  • Coconut cream works beautifully as a dairy-free alternative to heavy cream.

  • Spice level is customizable—adjust gochujang and chili oil to taste.

  • Leftovers keep well for 2–3 days in the fridge.
