Ingredients
-
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (pounded thin)
-
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
-
2 tablespoons butter
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
1/2 cup chicken broth
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1–2 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped (or 2 teaspoons dried basil)
-
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
Pound chicken evenly to 1/2-inch thickness if needed.
-
Season chicken with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour.
-
Melt butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
-
Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
-
Pour in cream and chicken broth, whisking to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer.
-
Stir in Parmesan cheese and basil, seasoning the sauce with additional salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
-
Return chicken to skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Simmer another 2–3 minutes to reheat.
-
Serve hot, garnished with extra basil!
Notes
-
Pound chicken evenly to ensure juicy, quick-cooking results.
-
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the creamiest, smoothest sauce.
-
Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for extra color and flavor.
-
Taste the sauce before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.
-
Low-carb tip: Serve with zucchini noodles or cauliflower rice!
