Description

Enjoy a deliciously crispy and cheesy dish with this Cheesy Garlic Parmesan Chicken. Tender chicken breasts are coated in a flavorful mixture of Parmesan, mozzarella, and breadcrumbs, then baked to golden perfection. Perfect for impressing guests or a cozy family dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper and pound to an even thickness of about 1 inch.
  3. Mix salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl. Rub the mixture all over the chicken breasts.
  4. In a large bowl, mix grated Parmesan, shredded mozzarella, and breadcrumbs.
  5. Stir in minced garlic and chopped parsley into the cheese mixture until well combined.
  6. Drizzle olive oil over the mixture and mix until evenly coated.
  7. Press each seasoned chicken breast into the cheesy breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides thoroughly.
  8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly. Arrange the coated chicken breasts on the sheet.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is golden brown (165°F/75°C).
  10. For a crispy topping, broil for the last 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  11. Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes after removing from the oven.
  12. Sprinkle with extra parsley and serve with roasted vegetables, salad, or pasta.

Notes

  • Add Vegetables: Consider adding cherry tomatoes, zucchini, or bell peppers to the baking sheet for a one-pan meal.
  • Make it Spicy: Add red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture for a spicy kick.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
  • Freezing: Freeze coated chicken before baking for later use. Bake from frozen, adding extra cooking time.
