Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of cooked and crumbled bacon (about 8 slices)
- 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 package of refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil (for brushing)
- Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Using your hands (or a spatula if you prefer), mix everything together until well combined. Ensure the cheese and bacon are evenly distributed throughout the beef.
- Taste a small amount of the mixture to check the seasoning. Adjust with more salt or pepper if needed.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Open the package of refrigerated biscuit dough and gently separate the 8 biscuits. Flatten each biscuit into a circle about 4 inches in diameter.
- Ensure the dough is not too thin; it should be sturdy enough to hold the filling without breaking.
- Take a flattened biscuit and place about 2 tablespoons of the beef filling in the center.
- Carefully fold the edges of the biscuit over the filling, pinching them together to seal. Ensure there are no gaps.
- Gently roll the bomb in your hands to form a round shape. Repeat for the remaining biscuits and filling.
- Place the assembled bombs seam-side down on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
- Brush the tops of each bomb with olive oil for a golden brown color.
- Optionally, sprinkle some additional smoked paprika or garlic powder on top before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F/71°C).
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Transfer the bombs to a serving platter and drizzle with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
- Garnish with chopped green onions for color and freshness.
- Serve warm with additional BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the filling by adding your favorite spices or vegetables.
- These bombs can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from frozen.
